Hi Pet Pals!
We are a family of Eleven! Well....Ok Dad, mom and four kids. We also have 3 dogs and 2 cats that we consider very much a part of our family!
As you know, a dog is man’s best friend, so we believe that they are a very important asset to our home and mental well-being. As each of them are just full of personality and we are so glad they are in our lives!
However, sad to say I didn’t always feel that way. In fact, the thought of getting a dog was not even in my mind when I thought of having a family. But, after a couple of kids, we decided to give it a try and you know the definition of insanity..... trying something over and over and expecting different results. Well, we had no clue how to properly train (potty or otherwise)! Talk about frustrating and ready to call it quits.
Then one day, our six year old daughter came down sick with what we thought was the flu, but after taking her to the doctor and going through testing, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
We wanted to do something for her to help her through her trial and thought we would one more time consider getting a dog, so we adopted a sweet, gentle golden retriever named Brandy. We finally found the one! She was approximately 3 years old when we got her.
Our daughter is now 17 and just last year,
Our sweet Brandy passed away. She offered so much joy, but it didn’t come real easy, we had to train her to stay in the kennel, walk with a leash, and we wish we would have had an ebook or dog training program on obedience training because she definitely had a stubborn streak and whenever the opportunity presented itself, she loved to run and meet all the neighbors!
